Grand Traverse Bay YMCA

The Grand Traverse Bay YMCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. With three branches across the region, the Y offers inclusive programs for all ages—from swim lessons and youth sports to group fitness classes, wellness programs, and family events. As more than just a gym, the YMCA is a place where individuals and families find connection, support, and opportunities to grow. Wellness Week Promotion

  • Wellness Week is the perfect time to invest in yourself. Join the Y between September 20–26 and we’ll waive your $99 joiner fee—because your journey to balance, strength, and community should start with ease. Join at any of our three locations or online using code WELLNESS.

Below is the full list of classes we’re offering during Wellness Week, completely free and open to the community. Students will need to register for classes, but no special code is needed. 

Autumn Equinox Yoga - Sunday, September 21st 3-4pm

West Y, Studio A w/ Ashley C.
Celebrate balance, change, and new beginnings with this special yoga practice honoring the Autumn Equinox. Through grounding flows, mindful breathwork, and gentle meditation, we’ll welcome the shift of seasons, let go of what no longer serves us, and create space for renewal and growth

Stroller Strides – Tuesday, September 23rd 10-11am

West Y, Outside (meet in Lobby) w/ Amber J.

Join us for a fun, outdoor workout designed for parents and caregivers. This class combines strength, cardio, and core exercises—all while keeping your little one close in the stroller. Connect with others, enjoy fresh air, and get moving together.

Coffee Walk – Tuesday, September 23rd 11:30am-12pm

Central Y, Outside (meet in Lobby) w/ Ashley G. & Melinda M.

Join us for coffee and community. Enjoy a guided walk outside with the Y wellness team members, connect with others, and start your day with good conversation and fresh air. Coffee and tea will be provided.

Strength & Balance for Seniors - Wednesday, September 24th 1:30-2:30pm

West Y, Studio A w/ Melinda M. 

This class is designed for older adults who want to stay strong, steady, and independent. Led by a certified personal trainer with experience in senior fitness, in this class you’ll learn exercises and movements that will improve muscle strength, joint stability, flexibility, and balance-all essential for reducing fall risk and enhancing daily function.

Sunrise Yoga – Thursday, September 25th 7:15-8:15am

West Y, Outside w/ Laura H. 

Experience the serenity of a yoga class outdoors against the backdrop of a stunning sunrise (weather permitting - field outside the Youth and Family Center).
